iPC – Internet Protocol Communicator--Router outside, PC inside.

This average looking SOHO(Small office/Home office) router is the answer to all of those specific applications that often force you to search out expensive and unnecessary hardware. You need a captive portal, an easily deployed packet sniffer, remote IDS(Intrusion Detection System) sensors for wired or wireless networks, or just a Linux friendly teleworker solution for L2TP/PPTP/IPsec or even OpenVPN. We frequently get requests from customers for unusual combinations of features on modems and routers. But, if any router ever tried to be all things to all people, it would be a configuration nightmare and cost as much as Cisco routers.

The open source movement has created a great amount of free software that can easily be assembled into very unique solutions. We are beginning to see equipment manufacturers opening CPE to these special solutions. It is now possible to run basic UNIX / Linux / OpenWRT on these devices and allow customers to use low cost hardware to build products that might cost 100 times as much.

We now have a low cost $60 router that can run Linux, function as an IP router and do additional functions. This has been designed to be a Linksys wrt54G clone, using the same chipsets and running the same openWRT firmware. If you have any special requirements, please contact us. We can build a device customized to your special needs.

Looks like a router on the outside; looks like a PC on the inside. This router comes with the following features:

  • Four 10/100 LAN Ports
  • One 10/100 WAN Port
  • 802.11G Wireless
  • 4 Mbyte Flash

  • One Year Warranty
  • Comes loaded with Kamakaze 7.09 or Whiterussian 0.9
