Ring Trip Service Note

Occasionally, customers report problems with "ring trip".  The customer will report that their phone rings once, then quits.  Often they can still answer the phone, but sometimes it will busy/alarm.  This is usually caused by premature tripping of the surge suppressor due to extra high ring voltage.

Widearea has an updated surge suppressor available that can fix this problem.  To request a replacement line card, go to rma.strowger.com and ask for a replacement due to ring trip.  This affects repeater cards only.  It does not affect AER-POWER nor AEC power supplies.
